Emergencies

During the event of a serious or life-threatening emergency, CALL 911 or go directly to the emergency care facility.

  • Call for help by dialing 911 to report the emergency. Provide the level of first aid for which you are trained and equipped.

  • Have somebody meet the ambulance or Public Safety officer at a clearly visible location in order to quickly direct them to the patient.

  • Have someone accompany the patient to the emergency care facility.

  • Inform department personnel about the incident to assure proper documentation and examination of the occurrence are performed.

  • Arrange for a binder or folder with medical information and history of the patient that can be easily accessed and sent along in any emergency.
